Updated word game

I put up a new version of my word game. This is an over improved version (I think) and an applet now so it can actually be played online.

I fixed a number of other problems with the game that I knew about, mainly that the dictionary I used (that I collated myself) was way too large, now I just use the TWL list and the number of legal words went from about 430,000 to about 180,000.

Who knew there were so many words!?!

i think one of those numbers is wrong ...

where did you get your word list from? i'm kind of looking for one.

If you go to http://www.scrabulous.com/scrabulous_dictionary.php

there are links for SOWPODS and TWL and there downloads as zipped text files from there.

The numbers are large because the first dictionary I put together was one I actually assembled. It had lots of place names and other words not valid in Scrabble type games.

The scoring of the game doesn't match the description on the "About WordGame" page. The gold letters appear to multiply the word score by 3 (at least in some cases, if not all).

Thanks for pointing out the error in the scoring. It was a mistake in the documentation. I had originally chosen 2 but changed it to 3 in the game and forgot to update it in the "How to Play".
